Hello and welcome to my blog.

I just created this website for my photography.   Friends have been encouraging me to do this for quite a while now.  Photography has always been a part of my life in some way.  In 2007 I purchased my first digital SLR and started getting serious about photography, shooting whenever possible and reading anything I could to try and learn.  A couple of years ago I began taking courses at the local community college which has helped build my confidence.   Through school, I have also begun experimenting with and learning film photography.  This has proved to be a fun and challenging process.   The film images will be added to the site in the future.  I continue to try to push myself to improve and increase my knowledge.

While it’s a little intimidating to put yourself out there, I think that this is something I needed to do now.  Over the years I have taken a very large quantity of pictures from which I have tried to choose my favorite and best images.  Please take a look around and I hope you will enjoy what you see.

The image below was taken at Ocean Beach in San Francisco.  I woke up early one morning hoping to get some long exposure morning shots at the beach.  As my bus arrived at the end of the line the rain began falling heavily.  The stop was nothing more than a small shelter which didn't do much to stop the rain with nothing else near or open.  I thought I had made a huge mistake.  Luckily the rain began to lighten and I was able to continue down the hill and this scene.  This image and another of Seal Rock from the beach made facing the cold and rain worth it.

Ocean Beach Dawn Thanks,

David
